The Consumatron Minute

Well, I finally got my laptop working again and went to capture the video I shot so I could edit it. Just as I was hitting the capture button, my damn camcorder pissed out on me!

It’s not like I have flat screen televisions in every room or a robotic bidet that whispers sweet nothings to me. I don’t eat caviar on my Coco-Puffs! I just want the few items of technology I do have to work. Hell, I’d even accept it if they just didn’t all go straight to shit at the same time!

Looks like the Minute is getting off to a slow new year.

Anyone have a cheap reliable camera they’d like to sell/loan me?

Anyone want to help the cause by donating a buck or two over on the sidebar?

Damn, I suck.

Impeccable Timing

I shot a minute last night. The reason you aren’t seeing it here is because the computer I use to capture/edit video decided to shut off during the video capture. It still won’t turn on! I think it’s dead.

Unfortunately, my desktop isn’t fit to handle video, so that throws a wrench into things.

Can anyone out there get me a good deal on a laptop?

With Resolve

Back from a much needed vacation and a realization that I misread my calendar, I return with one of those typical posts about arbitrary time periods and the things we say we will change in honor of the new one. Of course, these usually only last a few months (I made it all the way to October last year!) until we spiral into comfortable (or sometimes not-so-comfortable) patterns that we are so accustomed to.

So yes, I wish to change things this year. Many of my desired changes are probably much like yours: Smoke less, work out more, eat better, save more money, make more money, more time with my friends, more time with my family, create more free time and create more in general.

If you want to hear about all of that, I’d be happy to discuss those resolutions with you, but I’d rather let them unfold by way of the resolution that applies here. In a nutshell: Steady blogging, steady vlogging. I’ll be honest, the whole Consumatron project kinda fell apart at the end of last year. I could hide behind my busy work schedule and other excuses. They’d all be valid, but when it comes down to it, I just didn’t want it enough (boy, my high school gym teacher would be proud of that last statement).

Well, I still want it. This project keeps me on my toes and on my writing game. I also want weekends free, so you probably won’t be seeing much of me on the weekends.

During the week, the updates may not come every day, but they will hopefully be steadier. I hope your participation will become so as well. (More on that later).
