yes… that’s what bookstores do when they return mass market books for credit. they rip the covers off, send in the covers for credit and trash the book.
it’s extremely wasteful and my least favorite part of the job.

I have always wondered what they were talking about when I read that little paragraph in the front of a book that says “If you purchased this book without a cover, it is a (something) book.”
